Deepest sympathy to esteemed club member, Peggy Gleeson on the recent death of her brother-in-law, Paddy Gleeson, Dublin and formerly Ballybrista, Loughmore. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.

Late Stephen Hennessy - The death occurred peacefully on May 2nd, surrounded by his loving family at Thurles Community Hospital of Stephen Hennessy, Lisheen. He was 87 and was predeceased by his wife Molly R.I.P. five years ago. Although he had been in failing health for some time with the assistance of his family and home help, he had been able to live in his own home until very recently. Being a Carpenter and Builder by trade many dwelling houses and parish buildings bear witness to his expertise in his chosen trade.

He was a great supporter of the G.A.A. and a life long pioneer who loved dancing. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, a good neighbour who will be sadly missed and a devout Christian who was well prepared to meet the Almighty. The removal was from his residence at Lisheen to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Templetuohy. Principal celebrant of his Requiem Mass was Fr. Pat Murphy P.P., assisted by Fr. Martin Murphy P.P. Drom; Fr. Joe Egan P.P. Boherlahan; Fr. Jimmy Egan P.P. Knockavilla; Fr. Liam Everard P.P. Borrisoleigh; Canon Eugene Everard P.P. Templemore; Fr. Tom Fogarty, President St. Patrick’s College, Monsignor Maurice Dooley A.P. Loughmore and Fr. Stephen Carey. Templetuohy Choir as always provided a fine choral accompaniment. Members of Moyne Templetuohy G.A.A. Club provided a guard of honour as the cortege left the church. As Stephen’s mortal remains were laid to rest in the Sacred Heart Cemetery beside his beloved wife Molly, well known musician, Dan Taylor played Sliabh na mBan and Whistling Rufus, two tunes to which the pair had often glided round the dance floor.

Deepest sympathy to his daughter Margaret, sons Paddy, John, Stephen, Joe and Dessie, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, brother Billy, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. May his soul enjoy eternal rest.

Eurovision Bound - There will be more interest than usual in the parish this week in the Eurovision Song Contest as Ireland’s representatives Jedward are the grandsons of Michael Grimes who is a native of Lisheen and now living in Limerick. We wish them the best of luck.
