The Tipperary Star and Johnston Press are pleased to announce the appointment of Anne O’Grady to the position of Editor, following the retirement recently of Mr Michael Dundon.

A member of staff of The Tipperary Star since 1979, Anne is carrying on a proud family tradition and follows in the footsteps of her late father, Mr Gerard O’Grady, who was Editor of this publication from 1975 - 1987. Anne, daughter also of the late Mrs Moira O’Grady, Clongour, Thurles, is an award winning journalist.

She has been Senior Reporter and Deputy Editor for over two decades and is a past pupil of the Ursuline primary and secondary schools in Thurles. She becomes the fifth Editor in over 100 years of The Tipperary Star but most significantly she becomes the first lady Editor of the paper having also been the first ever lady President of Thurles Lions Club some years ago.

Anne is also only the second Thurles native to take the helm of The Tipperary Star and is dedicated to continuing the proud tradition of bringing up to date, accurate and ground breaking news, sport, current affairs, politics, local authority and court reporting to our many readers.

She is wished well in her new role.
