The Sacred Heart Primary School Roscrea welcomed Minister Alan Kelly on Friday last as he formally congratulated everyone at the school on the news that he had secured a new school building on their behalf.
Minister Kelly was accompanied by Shane Lee, local Labour representative, who was instrumental in bringing Mr Kelly on board in the longstanding campaign for a new school. Minister Kelly praised the school for embracing the ideals of inclusive education and facing head on the challenges that this brings. Speaking of the condition the current school building he said that a new school was no less than everyone at the Sacred Heart Primary School deserved. Minister Kelly spoke of the need to raise expectations for the town of Roscrea. A heritage town with quality transport links has plenty to offer in terms of a base for enterprise and employment. This, supported by a locally educated workforce, is central to marketing Roscrea and enticing industry to sites such as Benamore Park.
