Flooding at the Horse and Jockey is a major problem according to Cllr Seamus Hanafin and something needs to be done to rectify the problem, he told engineers at a meeting of the Thurles area councillors this week.
Area Engineer Mr Ruairi Boland accepted that the flooding is quite bad and said that the council are actively seeking a solution.
Cllr Hanafin also asked him to investigate a sight-line problem at Cabra and Ballycurrane.
Clancy Calls for Works to be undertaken
Councillor Billy Clancy has called for attention to be given to Ballycamass Lane following the bursting of a water main and damage to the roadway.
He also looked for Slattery’s Cross - Clonoulty road to receive attention and added that there are blindspots at the Metalbridgeas a result of signage which should be removed.
The issues will be taken in hand, he was informed by engineers.
Councillor Jim Ryan once again highlighted problems at the Monanearla dump site just outside Thurles with horses being allowed onto the site and roaming freely.
The Independent Councillor said that the owner is openly leading the horses to the site and called for action to be taken immediately.
