North Tipperary County Council has been urged by Cllr Jim Ryan to purchase a house at Thurles Road, Littleton which is currently derelict and attracting a lot of anti-social behaviour.

Cllr Ryan raised the issue at the monthly meeting of the local authority this week in Nenagh and said that residents of the area were very concerned about what was going at at the house. He called on the council to write to the department to see if funding could be secured to purchase the property, renovate it and re-let it as part of the housing stock.

Councillor Seamus Hanafin supported Cllr Ryan on this issue and siad that purchasing the house would be a great solution to a very problematic situation.

Meanwhile Cllr John Hogan has once again urged for immediate action to be taken with the derelict 12 house estate at Ashbury, Roscrea which has been abandoned. Council official Donal Purcell said that it is being worked on.
