An alternative location for the recycling facility at Bankplace will nolw have to be found. At this month’s meeting of Tipp/Cashel M/District, Cllr Mary Hanna Hourigan said the proposed site off the Main Street was the “wrong place for the bottlebank.” “I proposed that it be removed. It’s causing concern for the town. Everybody is up in arms.” Cllr Hourigan said she had received from support from local Gardaí, who were concerned about the bottlebank attracting anti-social behaviour. Cllr Denis Leahy said there was “100% complete opposition” to it. This, along with the “destruction of trees” is “inappropriate.” Cllr Leahy suggested contacting local multiple stores such as Lidl and Aldi, or Tesco and Dunnes Stores, as they sell most of the alcohol bottles.
