The Minister for the Environment, Community & Local Government, Alan Kelly, has welcomed the allocation of €25,000 to eight groups in Tipperary by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs under the 2014 funding.

Minister Kelly said: “The groups to benefit include Templemore Badminton Club, Tipperary Regional Youth Services, Spleodar Nenagh Arts Festival, Spafield FRC, Cashel, NTLP Roscrea Youth Project, Respond Housing Association and Tumbletots Playschool in Clonmel.

“This fund provides once-off grants to community groups and voluntary organisations with an involvement in the provision of Children’s and Youth services. Grants are awarded for one-off projects across a wide variety of areas such as youth cafes, scouts, summer camps, play equipment for playschools / crèches and other once- off programs, day trips for youth clubs/summer camps, and the provision of equipment for youth clubs.

“All of these organisations do a lot crucial work in the community. The Department will be in touch shortly with each of the organisations concerning payment of these grants.”
