Health Minister James Reilly sprinkled an air of positivity around Thurles on Friday following his whistle stop tour with the news that the Community Hospital of the Assumption will be a 60 bed facility by September, with the push to continue for the final seven to reach capacity.

However, welcome and all as the news is, it has been marred somewhat by confirmation that Minister Reilly only agreed to come to Thurles provided that the Chairman of the Community Hospital of the Assumption Action Group, Mr Sean Fogarty, not be included in the welcoming party.
