Councillor Jim Ryan has been informed by executive members of Thurles Town Council that there have been no reports of pyrite in any homes in the Cathedral Town, as far as they are aware.

The Independent Councillor asked the question in relation to a particular estate in the town, at the last meeting of the local authority, but was quickly informed that no complaints had been made to the council anyway.

Thurles Town Clerk Mr Michael Ryan said that there had been issues in relation to cracks in the plaster in some homes and a structural engineer was looking into this for the council. However, pyrite was never mentioned and there have been no reports of it, he said.
