A number of home owners in South Tipperary will be forced to pay for water which is unsafe.
Nationally, 960 thousand people draw water from plants which contain dangerous bugs like cryptosporidium and e -coli.
A report in the Irish Independant today says that many of these plants are not due to be upgraded until after 2015.
That means that hundreds of homes in the Burncourt and Clonmel areas will have to pay water charges, despite high levels of cryptosporidium in their water supply.
Residents of Skeheenarinky have also recently been issued with a further 4 year boil water notice.
The Government is being asked to exempt the affected households from charges.
