More than 450,000 people (one in ten) in Ireland experience depression at any one time, but unfortunately many people do not access the help and support that is available and can help them recover. All of Aware’s support services, including the Thurles group, offer users a safe space where they can share concerns and learn tips for managing the condition and minimising its impact. The services also help users to explore options that are available to them that they may not have recognised themselves.

Aware also offers online support groups; a locall helpline (1890 303 302) open Mon-Fri 10am-7pm; and an email support service (wecanhelp@aware.ie). More information about depression and Aware’s services is available on www.aware.ie
