Wednesday night saw a very successful Open Night at Thurles Toastmasters. An energetic and lively night was held in the Green Room with guests seeing what really happens at a Toastmasters meeting.

With Tom Noone as the capable Toastmaster for the night, he took control of proceedings with ease. Tom Russell, one of our most experienced members gave a great insight into the benefits of the Toastmaster programme and how it can develop skills for communication and also self confidence and growth.

As public speaking is one of the biggest fears, Toastmasters is there to eliminate any fear to speak in public, at a meeting, or at a wedding. We’d lively speeches from money making proposals to investigation of egos! A very inventive topics sessions was held which saw huge participation from the room with even some guests getting involved.

All who attended had a very enjoyable evening and we hope to see guests at any stage. Tommy Kennedy has also been newly elected the Membership EVP for the current year, we’d like to thank Tommy for taking on the role.

We wish our club members, Tommy Kennedy and John Kelly the very best of luck in the Area Final which takes place on the 16th October 2011 in the Minella Hotel, Clonmel. Our next meeting is on the 19th October from 8pm to 10pm in the Anner Hotel.
