Mickey ‘Rattler’ Byrne will hand over the proceeds of his hugely successful book “Rattler” to local charities in The Monks Bar, Mitchel Street, Thurles on Saturday October 15th.

The legendary former Tipperary and Thurles Sarsfields hurler pledged all proceeds from the book to charity and has been thrilled with the reaction to the publication which has gone to second print. The book was penned by retired Editor of The Tipperary Star, Michael Dundon, in conjunction with members of the Byrne family.

The huge launch night in the Anner Hotel, Thurles was one of the social highlights of the year in Thurles and attracted GAA people from far and wide. Micheal O’Muircheartaigh was on hand to officiate at the launch and there were many tall tales and stories from by-gone years recalled and recounted. The book is still available to purchase locally for anyone wishing to pick up a copy. It is well worth a read.

In the meantime, an open invitation is being extended to all to attend the hand over of the cheques to charities on Saturday October 15th. See you there.
