A man had to be hospitalised after he was stabbed in Tipperary town, in the early hours of Monday morning. Gardaí in Tipperary town Garda Station are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which took place on the Main Street, between 2am and 4am.
The victim’s injuries are not said to be life threatening. The scene was preserved for technical examination, and the main road through the town - the N24 - was closed for a time while Gardaí inspected the scene.
The closure was put in place at the Davis St Junction, with traffic being diverted by Bridge Street.
