Though used to operating at large-scale events, Pat Ryan, owner of Ryans Cleaning, recalls the planning for BT Live as “pretty horrendous”, and Pat and his crew have had to prepare for the event since last September. This included working out the logistics of transporting labour and waste through London at the height of Olympic traffic. The BT Live sites “open at 11am and close at 12pm”, so the cleaners will have to work through the night to maintain the parks for the duration of the event.
