The first in an exciting series of free business and IT conferences will take place on Thursday, July 12th in the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh.
The purpose of the BIT Conf series is to educate business owners and managers on how to integrate IT into the day-to-day running of their businesses. This will allow them to create new advertising and marketing strategies, improve work flow and productivity and build better channels of communication with their clients and customers.
The first in a number of talks entitled, Social Media for Business, will focus on the use of social media and the beneficial uses it can have in growing a business.
Speaking on the night will be Emma D’Arcy (Integral Marketing) and Aoife Rigney (Digital Marketer) who will cover the topics of Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Google+.
Emma will cover topics relating to Twitter and LinkedIn - an introduction to Twitter, instruction on how to build up followers and interact on Twitter, etiquette and some hints and tips. The LinkedIn module will cover issues like why LinkedIn is worth using in business, how to create a profile, networking and some useful hints and tips.
Meanwhile Aoife will cover topics related to Facebook and Google+.
Aoife will help you to assess whether Facebook is right for your business, explain how you can build your page, expand your reach, interact on Facebook and deal with advertising while also offering you some hints and tips.
The Google+ module will deal with issues such as why you should use Google+ for your business, developing your profile and some hints and tips.
The event is being hosted by local IT support company, Complete Computer Solutions, based in Friar’s Court in Nenagh.
Conference organiser Dave Devery says: “This series of talks are an opportunity for local businesses to educate themselves on how to maximise the IT that they are using.
“The first night will focus on how to use Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn as part of a marketing campaign and also to communicate with current and potential customers and clients. The nights are free to attend with registration required on the BIT Conf website beforehand.
“It will also allow local business people to attend without having to travel to the likes of Dublin or Cork for such events.”
Social Media for Business takes place on Thursday, July 12th in the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh from 7pm to 9.30pm.
