Table Quiz: A Table Quiz in Aid of C.A.M.P. (Cheshire Adventure Motivation Project) takes place in The Lucky Dip (was the Lacks), Roscrea on Friday 1st of April. 20 Euro for table of 4, raffle on the night. The Table Quiz starts @ 8 pm.
Roscrea Badminton Club: Roscrea Badminton Club will host it’s annual table quiz fundraiser on Friday, April 1st in O’Rourke’s Pub at 9.30pm. Over one hundred people participated last year in what proved to be a wonderful evening’s entertainment. This year the quiz will be bigger and better than ever before. All are invited to attend. Only €20.00 per team with a maximum of four competitors on each team.
Gamblers Anonymous: Meetings for the newly formed Gamblers Anonymous group will be held in the Legion Hall, Church grounds on Friday nights at 8.30pm
Killavilla Drama Group: Killavilla drama Group are staging an extra performance of the three act comedy play “The Two Loves Of Gabriel Foley” at 8pm on Friday the 18th of March 2011 to cater for disappointed patrons who were unable to secure bookings on the first three nights last week. Dromakeenan National School: Sixth Class pupils and their teacher, Ms Higgins are currently researching the history of their school and surrounding areas. They hope to publish a booklet to coincide with the opening of the new school in the near future. They are looking for photographs of past pupils and are also hoping that people might jot down their memories about their days as pupils of the school. Soup Lunch: A soup lunch in aid of the Irish Cancer Society Daffodil Day appeal will take place on Wednesday the 23rd of March from 12pm – 2pm. Christian Brothers School Reunion: As announced previously, Roscrea CBS opened its doors in September 1961. It is planned to have a celebration of the 50th anniversary, and the 38 years of its service in education, on the weekend of 9-11 September 2011. As many of the postmen are now scattered in various parts of the world in pursuit of their careers, the organising committee hope that their families who will read this note will bring the celebration to their attention. The committee are holding a Table Quiz in Grants on Friday night, 25th.All are welcome to come along and participate.
It is hoped to bring out a commemorative history of the school. Any articles or class/team photographs can be sent to Liam Doran, Monaincha, Roscrea.
Roscrea Parade: The Roscrea St. Patrick’s Day Parade takes place on Thursday, 17th March at 3p.m. If you would like to enter a float or give sponsorship please contact Marie in the Abbey Hall at 23183.
Roscrea Comhaltas: Our branch will be competing in the Munster Finals which will be held in Bru Boru Cashel on Friday the March 25th commencing at 7pm. It would be wonderful to have plenty of support in the audience on the night.
