Action Group
Welcomes Petition

The Community Hospital of the Assumption Action Group welcome the involvement of Thurles Town Council Members in organising a petition to remind Minister Reilly of the commitment given to the Community Hospital late last year. In November last the Action Group delivered a petition with over 5000 signatures to Minister Reilly. At that time the Minister had given a firm commitment to restore the 22 beds that had been lost in that facility. It is now hoped that a further petition and additional names will help remind the Minister of his commitment to return the full complement of beds to the Community Hospital, a commitment which has since been reneged upon.

We would also urge our Government supporting T.D.’s to become involved in this campaign and to fight for the Community Hospital. As it is anticipated that there will be one seat less in Tipperary in next general election, good will and a commitment toward the restoration of the 22 beds in Thurles as promised, might have a significant impact on voters intentions.
