Our engagements over the week involved our senior footballers and our junior A and B football teams.

enior Football: At Templemore on Wednesday evening last our footballers had a convincing 1-10 to 0-05 victory over County champions Thomas McDonagh’s. Having to field without some of our injured players there was a cautious approach to this fixture. However this was a fine performance overall from the team as they held a 1-04 to 0-02 interval lead and continued their domination in the second half to qualify for round 1 v Mullinhone.

Junior Football: On Friday night our junior A team had a walk over from Gortnahoe who failed to have a full compliment of players on the evening.

On Saturday evening our junior B team had a very good 1-16 to 0-03 victory over Upperchurch in Castleiney. No doubt victory was set in the first half as Upperchurch failed to score to our 1-09. Despite playing against the breeze in the second half they added a further impressive 0-07 to gain victory.

Fixtures: Thursday 21st June in Castleiney minor hurling v Thurles Sarsfields at 7.30pm. Saturday 23rd June junior hurling v Moycarkey in Littleton at 8.00pm. Sunday July 1st senior hurling Mid semi final v Drom in Templemore at 2.30pm.

Defibrillator: The next meeting is on Friday 22nd June in Castleiney at 8.45pm. It is important that all trained and those waiting to be trained attend as a programme is set to be launched on Friday 29th June.

Sympathy: On behalf of the senior and juvenile clubs we offer our deepest sympathy to the Gleeson family, Castleview on the early passing of Patricia (Pat), Kelly in Monivea, Co. Galway over the weekend. R.I.P.
