Denis Hangs Up His Garda Hat

Photo shows Denis Falahee who retired recently as Sergt in Charge of Security Section at the Garda College, Templemore. A native of Athea, Co Limerick, the well known and affable Denis resides at Roscrea Rd Templemore with his wife Breda, their only daughter Tricia is married to Niall Deegan - they have two sons and they live in Newport.

Denis worked in construction and the plastering trade before joining An Garda Siochana and is stationed at the College since 1993. He previously served in Tramore and Kilkenny districts. In the College he overlooked student Probationer Training, Continuous Professional Development and was in the Security Section during the years of increased intake of trainees. He was a senior member of Garda Staff and the longest serving at Sergeant Rank. Denis says he hopes to see trainees in Templemore in the near future. Even though the College is continuously providing several training courses to gardai and civilian staff, recruits as they were known, are the lifeblood of the College and indeed of Templemore..

Denis is not a guy to put the feet up and take it easy. Since he retired he has been busy setting up a business "Waterwheel Energy Services", which is a sole Irish and UK agency for the "Descal-a-Matic" water/limescale treatment system, a non chemical, green energy treatment used from Domestic to some of the largest industrial corporations worldwide. He is also southern sales agent for A Plus Insulation, who provide wall and attic insulation together with being the leading installers of the "Icynene" foam insulation, offering air tightness and draught proofing, together with sound proofing and condensation barriering. Incidently, A Plus is owned and operated by Templemore natives Michael Adlum together with Myles O'Brien and Sons.

Denis is along time member of voluntary organisations in Templemore and elsewhere and is a die-hard supporter of Limerick GAA. He says he would settle for a Munster Final appearance for Limerick hurlers and footballers in 2011!!!! We say Good Luck to him….

We wish Denis all the best in his retirement and in his future plans.
