Final Farewell for Templemore Shooting Victim

OVER 1,000 mourners attended the funeral of the late Tom Walsh (43) in Templemore’s Church of the Sacred Heart on Monday, to say their goodbyes to a “loving and caring” father, son, brother and friend.

OVER 1,000 mourners attended the funeral of the late Tom Walsh (43) in Templemore’s Church of the Sacred Heart on Monday, to say their goodbyes to a “loving and caring” father, son, brother and friend.

Mr Walsh’s 12-year-old daughter, Kira, was comforted by a wide circle of family and friends as she bade farewell to her Dad, Tom (43), who was murdered in a suspected robbery in DeLand, Florida last Saturday week. His former wife Lisa Stinnett also attended the funeral with her daughter. Mr Walsh’s remains were flown home to Templemore following a service during the week in the US.

Mr Walsh is survived by his heartbroken mother Elizabeth, Daughter Kira, Sisters Helen, Catherine, Monica and Carmel, Brothers, Michael, Brian and Gerard. Mr Walsh, a restaurant manager who moved to Florida in 1994 is also mourned by his Nieces and Nephews Emer, Andrew, John, Gillian, Donal, Matthew, Alex and Sarah, and brothers and sisters-in-law Cosmas, Tony, Noel, Jameel and Yvonne. Mr Walsh’s Remains Reposed at Grey’s Funeral Home on Sunday Evening from 4pm. Removal was at 7pm to the Church of the Sacred Heart Templemore, arriving at 7.30pm. Requiem Mass took place on Monday at 2pm.
