Nenagh Community Garden Set To Bloom

A new project is to be launched in Nenagh town over the next couple of weeks following the signing of a six-year lease between Nenagh Community Garden Project and Maureen Meagher of Cudville, Nenagh.

A new project is to be launched in Nenagh town over the next couple of weeks following the signing of a six-year lease between Nenagh Community Garden Project and Maureen Meagher of Cudville, Nenagh.

The lease sees the Community Garden Project leasing one-third of an acre at Cudville (opposite Centra) from Mrs Meagher for the next six years at a very reasonable yearly rent.

A steering committee first came together last May to look at the possibility of setting up the project and were satisfied from the initial meeting and subsequent meetings that the Project was feasible.

Over the past number of months, a large volume of work has been undertaking in putting together the steering committee, identifying the role of the committee, putting together aims and objectives, creating a project timeline, looking at what kind of activities could be undertaking in the garden and identifying the possible participants.
