Old Gael Remembered - A plaque is to erected in Two-Mile-Borris cemetery in memory of the late Paddy Hayes of Skehana. Paddy who died in 1946 (aged 68 years) was a member of the Two-Mile-Borris All-Ireland hurling winning team of 1900 captained by Ned Hayes, who also passed away that year. Paddy played in many other great games and was an outstanding Gael and Irishman. He won County final medals in 1900, 1903 and 1905. He also won an Interprovincial medal in 1906. The plaque in memory of Paddy and all the Hayes’ family members buried in the cemetery is being erected by his nephew Michael.

Thanks - Our thanks to all who took part in the Holy Week and Easter celebrations, especially to all who took special responsibilities; to Frs. Tom Fogarty and Gerry Hennessy who led some of the ceremonies in Two-Mile-Borris; to our sacristans, helpers, choir leaders, organists, choir members; to those who helped to prepare and decorate the churches and arranged the flowers and all who carried out their special ministries to enrich the liturgies.

Recent Death - Una Walsh, Ballywilliam, Nenagh (mother of Una Hogan, Pouldine).

Thanks - Orlaith Healy wishes to thank all who supported the recent Table Quiz for Aurelia Trust, the Romanian Orphanage Appeal. The amount raised was 2,164 euro.

Silver Wedding - Congratulations to Denis and Brigid Kennedy, Skehana who celebrated their silver wedding anniversary last weekend. They were married in the Church of St. James twenty five years ago. They celebrated the occasion with a reception at home for family, relatives and friends. They are wished many more years of peace and happiness together.

The Late Peter Ryan - The death has taken place on April 3rd of Peter Ryan, Cordangan, Tipperary Town after a long illness, (brother of Eileen Corcoran). Burial took place in St. Michael’s Cemetery after 10.30 a.m. Requiem Mass. Deeply mourned by his sisters Kathleen and Eileen, brothers Michael, Paddy and Paul, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, cousins, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

The Late Michael Ryan - The death has taken place of Michael Ryan (Micksie), Kilcommon Village on 8th April peacefully. Husband of the late Mai (nee Cussen) and father of Philip Ryan, Ballyerk. Burial took place in Ballintemple Cemetery, Dundrum after 12 noon Requiem Mass in St. Patrick’s Church, Kilcommon. Deeply mourned by his sons, Neil, Philip and Michael, daughter Ena, daughters-in-law Margaret, Nora and Statia, son-in-law Tommy, brothers, grandchildren, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours, cousins and friends. May he rest in peace.
