Late Nora Travers - The death occurred peacefully on April 19th in the Elderly Care unit of Nenagh Hospital of Nora Travers (nee Long), Ardeen Nursing Home and Ikerrin Court, Thurles and formerly Boulabeha. Nora came to live in Moyne following her marriage to John in mid 1960’s. There she lived happily helping with the farm and household chores until the mid 1990’s when she and John sold the farm and retired to Thurles. She was a friendly and hospitable lady, a great cook and an expert with the paint brush and keeping her home and surroundings in tip top condition. She was a devout christian, a loving wife and a good neighbour who will be sadly missed.
The removal was from Ardeen Nursing Home to St. Mary’s Church, Moyne. Principal celebrant of the Funeral Liturgy on Holy Thursday was Fr. Pat Murphy P.P. assisted by Fr. John O’Connell A.P.; Fr. Joe Egan P.P. Boherlahan; Fr. Jimmy Egan P.P. Knockavilla; Fr. Tom Egan C.C. Cashel and Fr. Tom Fogarty, President, St. Patrick’s College, Thurles. Marian O’Dwyer with Mary Rose McNally on the organ provided a beautiful choral accompaniment to the ceremony. Nora’s mortal remains were laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Deepest sympathy to her husband John, sister Mary (Callaghy), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Ar dheis De go raibh a hanam.
