Tipperary Man Stabbed in Clonmel

THREE arrests have been made in relation to the stabbing of a man in Clonmel over the weekend. The man is fighting for his life having suffered up to 40 stab wounds during the attack, which took place around 5am on Saturday. The attack took place in a car park near the Gashouse Bridge on the Old Waterford Road. No weapon has yet been recovered.

Clonmel Gardaí have set up a special investigation team. So far, three arrests have been made, under the Criminal Justice Act 1984. The men are being held in Cahir and Clonmel Garda Stations.

The victim, a man in his 20’s from Tipperary town, remains in the intensive care unit of South Tipperary General Hospital. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses with any information to come forward. Information can be given in confidence to Clonmel Gardai on 052 6177640.
