Relief at St. Anne’s - Smith

Cllr Michael Smith
Nothing can be more damaging to the morale of dedicated staff than national headlines pointing the finger at each individual for the neglect of those in their care,” says Cllr Michael Smith.

Nothing can be more damaging to the morale of dedicated staff than national headlines pointing the finger at each individual for the neglect of those in their care,” says Cllr Michael Smith.

“This is what happened to the care staff of St Anne’s some months ago. We all recognise the need for vigilance and care where these very special services are concerned. An independent investigation carried out by the Daughters of Charity into the care provided by the staff at St Anne’s has cleared each and every one of them. However, exoneration never makes the headlines like the accusations. I’m glad that the staff are relieved of this weight and the clients, parents and all those who avail of these services can go forward with the utmost confidence in the management and staff at St Anne’s. I’m also happy that ongoing work into plans for upgrading of the facilities is underway. We all look forward to leaving this chapter behind us.”
