Thurles Town Council has approved grants totalling 6,600Euro to clubs and organisations in the town.
The clubs awarded are:
Peake Villa Schoolboys FC 1,000; Thurles Boxing Club 1000 Euro: Marlstone Maon 900 Euro; Sli na Siure residents Assoc. 900 Euro; Moyne Rd Residents Assoc. 500 Euro; St Josephs and St Brigids Residents Assoc. 500 Euro; Thurles Town FC 450 Euro; Tipp Talons Basketball Club 350 Euro; Ard na Croise Residents Assoc. 250 Euro; Thurles Active Retirement Group 250 Euro; Thurles Care Group 250 Euro; Thurles Special Olympics Club 250 Euro.
Cllr Noel Dwyer has called for trees and shrubs on Moyne Road and Kickham Street to be cut back as they are impeding speed signs which cannot be seen as a result. He also called for a flooding problem at Mill Road to be sorted out.
