Nenagh landlords are “becoming choosy and turning their nose up at some people”, according to Cllr Seamus Morris. Warning that up to 200 people in the area could have their house repossessed by the banks in the coming months, he called on Nenagh Town Council to talk to people who have houses as “we have an incredible shortage of housing in Nenagh”.
His comments came following an appeal by Cllr Lalor McGee to the council not to place tenants in unfinished housing estates.
“The houses are fine, but the green areas and the roads are not,” he said.
Cllr Tommy Moylan said Cllr McGee had a valid point, but the council was “caught between a rock and hard place”.
