This was the inaugural “Rock Run” to raise funds to buy furniture for the boys school, with 175 runners of all ages taking part. “The weather gods were definitely smiling on us,” said Principal Will Ryan. “This created a fantastic atmosphere from start to finish.” The 8k route took in the Rock of Cashel, the Kiln, out the Camas road, and back in the Boithrín Bocht, ending at O’Brien’s Farmhouse, who volunteered the use of their field. Many thanks to the Scouts who helped put up a tent for a prize giving ceremony afterwards. Prizes for the top runners were donated by parents. Congratulations to all the primary school children who took part, some of whom finished in about 40mins! Full list of prizewinners at stjohnthebaptistboysnscashel.ie
