CSPE Action Project Day Naomh Ceannais – Before the Easter Holidays, Naomh Ceannais second year students began to collect money for Sr. Mona Maher and the Uganda Mission Fund as part of our CSPE Action project.

In total, we raised €70. Fr. Lorcan our school chaplain brought the money out to Uganda to Sr. Mona during the Easter holidays.

Fr. Lorcan spoke to our class regarding this visit and of previous visits he made to Coloma village where Sr. Mona lives and works.

He visited two primary schools and one secondary school whose students we help. He also visited the AIDS Orphanage. With the money we raised, we helped a girl named Claire to pay for her education. A video on Coloma can be seen on Youtube link www.Youtube.com/a day in the life of Coloma.

Flag Day – On April 26, the Transition Year students took part in the Special Olympics Flag Day. Students went to the surrounding Supermarkets which included Supervalu, Tesco and Dunnes.

We would like to thank all of the Supermarkets for letting us use their premises and to all of the people who kindly donated money.

We had great success on the day and raised a great sum of €1296.
