Carroll Accuses Minister Hogan of ‘Ripping the Heart out of
Rural Tipperary’

North Tipperary Councillor John Carroll has accused Minister of the Environment, Community, and Local Development Phil Hogan and his Government of “Ripping the Heart out of Rural Tipperary”.

North Tipperary Councillor John Carroll has accused Minister of the Environment, Community, and Local Development Phil Hogan and his Government of “Ripping the Heart out of Rural Tipperary”.

This follows the news of further Closures of Rural Garda Stations in Lower Ormond in Borrisokane Area with Further Reviews & Possible Staff Reductions in District Headquarters, such as Nenagh, Killaloe, Templemore, Thurles, Cahir Clonmel and Tipperary Town. Adding to the bad news was “Big Phil” Hogan’s announcement that the responsibility of collecting the Household Charge is placed on county councils, as well as the news that eight Tipperary bank branches are to close this winter. In a press release last week, Mr. Carroll said he sees this as “further evidence of this Fine Gael / Labour Government’s heartless and uncaring attitude”. See next weeks Tipperary Star for full details.
