The West Midlands Team Show-Jumping Championship Qualifier took place in the Tipperary Equestrian Centre on Sunday 20th May hosted by the Mill Road Riding Club.

Sixteen teams from the Region competed on the day. Each team comprising of Intermediate; Advanced Intermediate and Open Grade riders.

Mill Road Riding Club – celebrating its 20th year this year had three teams competing for that regional slot to qualify for the Final which will be held on Sunday 19th August at the Dublin Horse Show.

Four teams were on zero faults after the first found – one of them being Mill Road. With excitement mounting each rider was faced with the task of a clear round but that task proved too much for some and before the last line rider jumped the Mill Road team were in the strongest position carrying just four faults. But a clear round was needed to win it so under no pressure Raynal Cunningham, team captain riding Killahara Boy achieved just that and secured the teams place in the RDS. A huge congratulations to Raynal, Hanna Bjoremark-Deegan, Deirdre Sheedy and Joanne King for a wonderful team performance and a great result. Also congratulations to all teams who competed on the day and to the Mill Road Riding Club for making the event such a huge success. The very best of luck to the winning team and their chef d’equipe Tomas Ryan in the final at the Dublin Horse Show in August.
