Showcasing Thurles as a Tourist Destination

An opportunity to showcase Thurles as an outstanding family-friendly tourism destination, was how Brian Keating, Regional Manager North Tipperary and Offaly with Shannon Development, described the Thurles Sarsfields International Hurling Festival at its official launch by the President of the GAA, Liam O Neill, in Croke Park last week.

The event takes place in the town on Munster hurling final week-end, July 13th/14th, and is expected to attract over one thousand visitors to take part in the hurling, camogie, hurlball and road bowling competitions which are scheduled. See next weeks Tipperary Star for full report.
