THE people of Nenagh have been challenged by Fine Gael’s Cllr Conor Delaney to get stuck into and engage with the numerous important initiatives that are to be developed in the town this year.
“At present, there are two important documents on public display in Nenagh - the Nenagh and Environs Development Plan 2013-2019 and the Draft Plans for a town park in Nenagh.
“I want to encourage people to get actively involved in putting forward proposals and ideas for both initiatives,” Cllr Delaney said.
“The Development Plan is crucial for the town in that it sets a framework for the proper planning and sustainable development of the town for the next six years.
“Everyone’s views and contributions are important no matter how big or small they are and I would encourage people to liaise with their public representatives and have their voice heard,” Cllr Delaney continued.
Meanwhile, the councillor said that the development of a town park for Nenagh was immense and it was going to be the “jewel in the crown” for the town for decades to come.
“The recent public forum held at Town Council Chamber last December 13 was well attended. The people - both young and old - were genuinely excited by the prospect of the largest town in North Tipperary finally having its own town park,” he said.
Cllr. Delaney concluded by saying that both of these projects will shape Nenagh Town and the direction it chooses to take in 2012 and it was time for the people of Nenagh to come on board and be a part of it.
