St. Josephs Young Priests Society - St. Josephs Young Priests Society would like to thank subscribers for their generous support in the past and remind them that the annual subscription of 10 euro is now due. The society has assisted 787 students this past year, 118 of whom were Irish. There were 118 ordained to the priesthood. Please remember to pray for vocations.

Franciscan Missionary Sisters for Africa - They would like to thank all who contributed to their mission. The amount collected was 1,337 euro.

Pilgrimage to Fatima - A pilgrimage to Fatima from the Galbally/Aherlow parish ex Cork will take place Sept. 23rd to 30th incl. The cost of this trip is 785 euro. The spiritual director is Fr. Denis Talbot. For further details Tel. Joan on (062) 37065 or (086) 3789887.

Congratulations - Congratulations to Katie Crosse, Ballymacady who was chosen as student of the year at Cashel Community School. She gained this award for her unfailing courtesy, enthusiasm, co-operation and consistently pleasant presence in the classroom and on the corridors. Well done Katie on your award.

Golden /Kilfeacle I.C.A. - The monthly meeting will take place in Kilfeacle Community Hall on Wednesday, June 8th at 8 p.m. Hostesses on the night will be Teresa O’Dwyer and Nuala Fitzgerald. Mary Quinlan will present the prize.

I.C.A. Summer Outing - The bus will depart Golden at 9.30 a.m. on Thurs. July 7th . Morning tea/coffee and scones will be served at the Castletroy Park Hotel, Limerick. From here they will head to the Cliffs of Moher (visitor experience). Next stop will be Ballyvaughan and then back to the Corn Barn, Bunratty Folk Park for dinner and traditional Irish night. Cancer Collection - Many thanks to all who supported the collection in Kilfeacle last weekend. The amount collected was 298 euro.

Cashel Community school Soccer - Congratulations to James Casey, Seanie O’Halloran and David Wade who were members of the Cashel Community School U/14 Soccer team which won the East Munster soccer championship. A big well done to James Casey who was captain of the team and was also named as ‘Man of the Match’.

Queen of the Suir Festival Update - This day two weeks, Wed 22nd of June the Queen of the Suir festival kicks off in Golden. Our Sports and Family day on Sunday, June 26th is expected to be one of the big events over the weekend. If anybody has an empty trailer they are prepared to give to the timber committee then please contact Michael on (087) 2292126. Michael is also gathering items for his auction. Anyone wishing to donate can contact him on the above mobile number. There will be a top class dog show at the Sports and family day. Further information on this can be obtained from Liz on (087) 2605014. There will also be a baby show on the day. Categories will be U/6 months, U/12 months and U/18 months and entries will be taken on the day. Some of the many attractions on the day will include Bottle bank, pick a straw, darts competition, ring a bottle, cake stall, teas, bouncy castle, magician and many more. All of the 16 Queens will be interviewed by Michael Fitzgerald at 2.30 p.m. The winner will be announced at the Festival Dance in the Community hall that night. Music for this dance will be by the wonderful ‘Just 5’ and there will be a bar extension.

Some festival breaking news just in. We have just heard of three couples entered in the wife carrying competition on the island on Sat. June 25th. They are Darren Byrnes and Sabrina Hally, Seanie and Catherine O’Halloran and Tom and Julie Tierney. Great craic for all will be assured at this event.
