Concerns were expressed at the RCDC meeting regarding staff levels at Roscrea Garda Station.
One man present said he heard that the station was losing three members, and that the Inspector was being transferred to Kilkenny. Both suggestions have been firmly rejected this week by Inspector Oliver Henry (see page 1). One man said emergency services in Roscrea had to attend calls as far away as Cashel and the Cliffs of Moher, and said they are “completely under-resourced.”
The news comes after one man appeared at a Special Court in Nenagh on Sunday, after a firearm was discharged at Knock, Roscrea, last Wednesday evening. Full Story on page 1 of this week’s Tipperary Star.
