A person appeared before a Special Court in Nenagh on Sunday after a shot was fired into a house on the outskirts of Roscrea on Wednesday evening last.
Three people were detained by Roscrea Gardaí, supported by the Regional Support Unit and members from Nenagh and Thurles.
Gardaí attended the scene after receiving a 999 call regarding gunshots being fired in Cullaun, Knock, near Roscrea. Shots were discharged into a house at around 11pm, confirmed a Garda spokesman. Three arrests were made: one person appeared before a Special Court in Nenagh on Sunday. The two other people were released without charge. “There was nobody injured,” said the spokesman. “A firearm was recovered.”
Meanwhile, the Tipperary Star can confirm that Garda levels in Roscrea will be maintained for the foreseeable future.
Concerns were expressed at a meeting of the Roscrea Community Development Council (RCDC) on Thursday that Gardaí who are retiring are not being replaced, and that the station will soon have no Inspector.
