Last Thursday our Roscrea Trailblazers group had a smashing walk around the grounds of Mount St Josephs Abbey.
It was great to see so many new walkers joining us and a few old faces showing up also, always welcome. Now that the evenings have gotten longer our walks are back to one every Thursday night and this Thursday our walk will be at Golden Grove and Orange Hill. Meeting as normal at Mulrooneys Gala at 7pm. Our field trip to the Burren Co Clare is set for Sunday May the 17th and places are filling up fast, there will be two walks on offer, a long at 8km and a short Nature walk at 2km which is suitable for families and small kids.
The Burren Visitor centre have very kindly offered Two guides free of charge for the day so if you would like to join us on this trip, please make contact through the number below. Our end of year hike has been decided and this year it will be down to Dingle in Kerry to climb Mount Brandon. This is another pilgrim mountain and well within the capabilities of every hill walker. The date has not been set but it will be sometime in September and will involve an overnight stay. If you would like to join us on our very social and easy going walks which are free and open to all, young and old, you can send a text to Cathal on 086 3399193 or Declan on 087 6769143 with an expression of interest. You can also log onto Face book: Roscrea Trail Blazers or www.climbireland.com to see photos of our summer walks. You will be made feel very welcome.
