Minister for the Environment Alan Kelly and Cllr Fiona Bonfield have both released updates on proposed works to be carried out around Nenagh Municipal District Council’s area.

The resurfacing of the housing estate at Old Road, Silvermines, is to get underway. Minister Kelly secured funding for this earlier in the year.

The work in Old Cullina, Ballina, will commence by late September. Again this money was secured by Minister Kelly, following representations made by Cllr Bonfield in May.

“I am delighted that following many years of waiting the residents will finally see work carried out on the surface of the road.” said Minister Kelly.

The quarry lane in Ballina will also be under construction by October. “Whilst canvassing earlier in the year many people asked for something to be done with this road. I was delighted when Minister Kelly worked hard to secure this funding.” concluded Bonfield.

The tarmacadam works in Mulcair Manor, Newport, started last week and should be complete at this stage.
