Thurles town is preparing for a very busy Sunday with three major games taking place in Semple Stadium.

Thurles town is preparing for a very busy Sunday with three major games taking place in Semple Stadium.

The All-Ireland senior hurling quarter final ties between Clare and Galway, and Kilkenny and Cork will be staged in the Field of Legends, and will be preceded by a minor hurling quarter final also, making it a bumper day for hurling in the Cathedral Town - the birthplace of the GAA.

The senior hurling games are live on TV, but there is expected to be in excess of 35,000 in attendance on the day. Parking restirctions will be place throughout the town and a Garda traffic management plan will be in operation in the general area of Semple Stadium.
