An exciting, one of a kind, building workshop will be held in Cahir today Saturday 9th and tomorrow Sunday 10th March. Irish Eco-architect Peter Cowman of The Living Architecture Centre (who is currently living in Australia) will be teaching particpants how to build a low-cost sustainable shelter using his own timber framing method which is so simple anybody can learn how to build.

At the workshop the framing for Gerry Quigley’s music studio, which will be relocated to Ballyvourney, where it will be completed using the age-old straw & clay building method for infill of the walls, will be built.

During the workshop, Peter will also teach some straw & clay building, and also how to make your own natural paints.

Peter is passionate about building low-cost dwellings and has a plan to teach as many people as he can to learn how to make their own mortage-free shelter.

His work is quite fascinating and amazing for anybody interested in building environmentally friendly low-cost dwellings.
