Coonan Welcomes Disability Groups Funding

Noel Coonan TD has welcomed the announcement of funding for disability groups in Tipperary. “Amongst those to benefit are the Daughters of Charity, St Annes Centre, Roscrea who received €1,200 towards the cost of funding a 12 week art course and €2,000 for equipment for eight people with an Intellectual Disability.

“Aras Mhuire Day Care Centre in Nenagh has received €17,584 towards the cost of installing solar panels to heat the water for the centre. Irish Wheelchair Association in Hannon House Roscrea has benefitted €4,305 towards the cost of purchasing a hoist for the centre.

“The Journeyman Programme in Carrick-on-Suir has been allocated €8,800 towards the cost of completing the final stage of Community Garden Project.

“This is a further example of Government’s strong committment to the disability sector at a time when the country is in unprecedented economic difficulty,” concluded Deputy Coonan.
