In a statement to the Tipperary Star this week, Independent Town Councillor Noel O’Dwyer outlined his concern regarding the impending works on the Suir Bridge in Thurles.

“Like all the other councillors I found it hard to believe that the remedial work which is long overdue on the bridge and particularly the footpaths in the heart of the town could not have been timed to begin the minute the school holidays started, especially when the traffic disruption caused last year by other ill-timed work on the bridge should be fresh in the memory.

However, there is a good three weeks at least before the schools reopen, and that should enable a lot of the work to be carried out before the serious traffic congestion returns. See this weeks Tipperary Star for full stroy.
