Roscrea will play Nenagh Eire Og in the final round of group games in the North Championship this weekend. At the time of going to print it looks like a Friday evening fixture at 8pm in Cloughjordan. A big attendance at the game would be really appreciated.
With Roscrea in joint third place on four points with Kilruane, and just one point behind Borrisoleigh in second place, the group is wide open and it certainly is all to play for. All games in the group will throw in at the same time in the interests of fairness to all.
Roscrea drew with Silvermines in Round 5 of the North Tipp Junior B Hurling league on Friday evening last. In a high scoring encounter the final score was Roscrea 3-10, Silvermines 2-13/
The club would like to express it’s sincere sympathy to the Dooley family on the passing of Leo on Thursday last. Leo was one of Roscrea’s greatest ever sporting stars. He’s performances for his town, county and province are legendary and many consider him to be among the best sporting greats that Roscrea has ever produced. It was fitting that a minutes silence was observed before the Tipperary/Limerick game on Sunday last. A great tribute to a great sportsman. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam
