Tipp Courthouse Repairs a ‘Disgrace’ - Leahy

At this month’s meeting of South Tipp County Council, Cllr Denis Leahy called on Clean Ireland Ltd, the recycling firm responsible for South Tipperary’s refuse disposal, to cover 13 people who had been on a waiver scheme prior to the privatisation of the refuse service last year.

These 13 people had been on a legitimate waiver scheme, and should continue to be covered under the new regime, said Cllr Leahy.

“I know there are glitches in the system. Thirteen people who got the waiver have been left unaided. It’s very unfortunate to those people we were dealing with, especially over Christmas. We need answers, quickly.”

Council Official Ms Claire Curley said the matter had been discussed by Tipperary Town Council and “something positive will come up.”
