Once again Coláiste Phobal students have achieved the maximum 600 points in the Leaving Certificate.
Indeed one student, Brian Shaw achieved seven A1’s and an A2 while another student Joseph Kelly achieved five A1’s and two A2’s. School Principal Gerard O’Brien was delighted with the results in general. He congratulated all the students and their teachers for reaching such high standards. Along with Brian and Joseph we also had seven other pupils achieving seven honours.
We had seven more achieving six honours and thirteen achieving five honours. ‘A’ Grades were produced in almost all subjects which is a great reflection on what can be achieved by pupils in Coláiste Phobal. Mr O’Brien was also delighted with the Maths results. Coláiste Phobal was chosen as one of twenty four Project Maths Schools. 81% of students who took the Higher Level paper achieved C or higher and failures at Ordinary Level were well below the National Averages. Gerard complemented the teachers for their commitment to the Maths Project over the past three years in the school. The Leaving Certificate Applied results were also excellent in the Coláiste with two students: David O’Rourke and Enya Feehan achieving the highest award with a Distinction and a number of other pupils with Merit Awards.
