Gardai in Cashel are appealing for information about the identities of the three men who died in Friday's horrific car crash near Cashel.

Gardai in Cashel are appealing for information about the identities of the three men who died in Friday's horrific car crash near Cashel.

The three deceased men were aged in their twenties, of slim to medium build, dark haired and possibly of Romanian or eastern European ethnicity.

The car they were travelling in is a blue four door Volkswagon Passat, registration 99 D 89487.

It is believed that the vehicle was travelling southbound prior to the collision.

The collision happened at about 11.50pm on Friday night, (21st January). All three men in the car - the driver, a front seat passenger and a rear seat passenger, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the rigid truck was removed to South Tipperary General Hospital for minor injuries. It's understood the surviving man is from Templemore.

Forensic collision investigators attended the scene, and the road was closed while they carried out their examinations. Diversions were put in place.
