WILD horses are running loose in an estate in Templemore, while dogs are threatening people in the graveyard, according to local Councillors.
At this month’s meeting of the Town Council, Cllr Jim O’Shea said he had received a phone call from a man in an estate complaining that there wild horses loose in Woodville Crescent.
When the caller went to inquire who owned the horses, he was told there was “lease” from the Town Council for “grazing rights” to let the horses roam wild in that area.
Cllr O’Shea checked the records and no such lease was granted. At the time of going to press, two more horses have appeared at Woodville Crescent, bringing the number of horses to four. Cllr O’Shea called on the horses to removed immediately.
“Get them out of there now. The last thing we want is damage to a car or a kick to a child. It’s an accident waiting to happen at the moment.”
Cllr Valerie Young said it was “getting more like Smithfield village there every day.”
