Nenagh’s Cllr Seamus Morris emerged the winner in Sinn Féin’s selection convention for the next General Election, held in Cashel’s Halla na Féile on Monday night.
Cllr Morris contested the nomination contest with Cashel’s Cllr Martin Browne and Clonmel’s Catherine Carey. Some 200 members cast their vote from 10 Cumann spread across the newly united Tipperary constituency. Before the voting got underway, Sinn Féin MEP for Ireland South Liadh ní Riada told delegates that the party will fight to offer “dependable, principled, and republican represenation for our people.”
