Templemore Council celebrated 25 years of links with Spain this month when a delegation consisting of Serena Duran Daly, and Kevin Fogarty, recalled the first Spanish students coming to town back in 1988.
“We’ve been friends ever since,” said Mr Fogarty. Ms Duran said a son of one of the Spanish students staying with her had told her: “This is where my parents fell in love.” The delegation unveiled a new logo for the 25th anniversary of the Jack in the Box project, originally spearheaded by local woman Geraldine Crampton, and her late mother Mollie. The delegation were each presented with a history of Templemore Town Council 1860 -2010.
